The Caddy Shack Co. Apothecary - Kitchen - Homestead

Welcome to The Caddy Shack Co.

It started with cooking at home, trying to make things a little better, a little simpler, and sometimes just seeing what would happen if I tried something new. Some things worked. Some didn’t. There were plenty of kitchen messes, notes scribbled in the margins, and moments of “well, that didn’t go as planned.”

That’s hasn’t changed.

I learn as I go, adjust when something doesn’t work, and try again next time. This space is a place to share that process—mistakes included.

Apothecary

Alongside cooking, I’ve been learning how to work with herbs in simple, practical ways.

This is about teas, infusions, salves, and blends—things that fit into everyday life. I read, I try, I pay attention, and I stay realistic. Some things become regular staples. Some things are experiments that teach me what not to do next time.

It’s an ongoing learning process, and I share it as it unfolds.

Kitchen

Most of what you’ll see here starts in the kitchen.

I like cooking from scratch when it makes sense and using shortcuts when it doesn’t. There’s bread baking, soups on the stove, recipes that get changed halfway through, and the occasional dinner that turns into something else entirely.

If you’ve ever burned something, forgotten an ingredient, or laughed at how a recipe turned out anyway, you’ll probably feel at home here.

Homestead

We’re working toward a future homestead.

Right now, that looks like plans, projects, and a lot of learning. I dream of a big garden, a barn with goats running around, and a life that’s a little more rooted in the land. Until then, I work in my raised garden beds, learn what I can about food preservation, and slowly build knowledge around farm animals—especially chickens, goats, ducks, and bees.

The goal isn’t to do everything at once or get it perfect. It’s to learn skills, make mistakes, and move toward being a little more self-sufficient each year.

I share the real process here—not a finished picture.

If You’re Here

It’s because you like cooking real food, learning by doing, laughing at mistakes, and taking life as it comes, you’re in the right place.

Thanks for being here.
Pull up a chair and stay awhile.
